Brief Introduction


Dr. Kanwar Barjinder Singh has joined as Director, Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI), Punjab Agricultural University Campus, Ludhiana. Prior to joining as Director PAMETI, Dr. KB Singh held the position of Director, Regional Research Station, Ballowal Saunkhri, PAU.

Dr. KB Singh has made significant contributions to agriculture sector through teaching, research, extension and various publications. Dr. Singh started his career as District Extension Specialist (Soil Science) at Farm Advisory Service Centre (FASC), Jalandhar (January 2003 to August 2008) and was later selected as Deputy Director (T) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Moga (November 2008 to July 2013); Principal Soil Physicist-cum-Director, University Seed Farm Ladhowal (November 2016 to June 2019) and Incharge, Plant Clinic, PAU (November 2021 to March 2023).

Dr. Singh’s contribution to academia are extensive as he has 37 research papers published in national and international journals, 44 papers published/presented in the proceedings of conferences/seminars, 4 book chapters, more than 100 popular articles in journals and newspapers, and 14 publications as extension bulletins, extension books and folders. As extension scientist, he has been instrumental in organising 10 Kisan Melas at PAU campus, developing four demonstration units, giving 13 recommendations in PAU’s Package of Practices for Kharif/Rabi and vegetable crops. Dr Singh is also a recipient of ICAR Junior Fellowship, Indian Society of Soil Science Zonal Award for the best doctoral research, NABARD State Award for the best project implementation and four technology exhibition awards at Kisan Melas.
