There is a need to train the rural women and equip them with knowledge and skills for self employment, or entrepreneurship, so as they can generate better livelihood opportunities and improve household income. Keeping this in view, PAMETI organized a training on “Empowering Rural Women” in collaboration with MVS, NGO from 13-15 May, 2025. This training was attended by 24 participants from village -Dholan and village – Chachrari, Ludhiana.Â
At the onset of the programme, Ms. Bharti Madan, Deputy Director (IT), PAMETI explained about the objective of the training. She urged the participants to attend the training thoroughly and ask their queries without hesitation. During the programme, candidates were not only provided knowledge about livelihood generation occupations but also helped them understand interpersonal relationship management in family and overall society. Dr Seema Sharma, Head, Dept. of Human Development, PAU talked about women health. She explained different aspects of health including physical, mental, social and spiritual components.Â
Practical session on making Mango Chutney, Aam Papad and Fruity were also conducted to make trainees acquainted with value addition of fruits at household level. Trainees appreciated the experts’ sessions and efforts of the organizers.Â
