
PAMETI, in collaboration with the Manav Vikas Sansthan, NGO, organized “Economic and Social Development Programme for Rural Women” from April 23-25, 2025 under RKVY scheme. A total of 25 trainees from Village- Dholan, Ludhiana participated in this training.
The objective of this training programme was to impart knowledge and skills to the women trainees and enable them to start or improve income-generating activities. The programme focused on encouraging self-confidence, leadership, and decision-making capabilities to help women actively participate in community and household matters. Through exposure visits and sharing of success stories, the programme demonstrated that how women can play a major role as bread earners of their families, knowledge holders, and innovators for the communities.
During the programme, trainees were given knowledge about various medicinal plants, their identification and benefits through activities by Dr Balwinder Singh, Deputy Director (Agril. Extn.), PAMETI. Trainees included sessions about various livelihood generation occupations like goat farming, mushroom cultivation, etc. Sessions were also conducted to encourage self-confidence, leadership, and decision making capabilities to help women actively participate in household and community work. A visit to kitchen Garden model was also arranged where trainees learnt about rooftop kitchen garden model. �
