
The Punjab Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (PAMETI), Ludhiana successfully organized a three-day training programme on “Behavioural Skills for Effective Extension Delivery” from July 23-25, 2025 at its Campus for the benefit of extension officials from state agriculture and allied departments. The training was designed to enhance the behavioural competencies of extension professionals for more impactful outreach and development activities.
During the inaugural address, Dr. K.B. Singh, Director, PAMETI revealed the objectives of training and importance of behavioural skills in extension. Over the course of the three days, participants engaged in interactive sessions on key behavioural topics including understanding human behaviour, attitude determines altitude, assertiveness, mindful living, haptitude, empathy and relationship building etc. Dr. Sarbjit Singh, Retd. Professor from PAU and Dr. Pretty Bhalla from LPU explained how a happy and positive attitude can significantly impact personal growth and professional success. Psychologists Mrs. Neha Lakhanpal and Mrs. Rachna Jain contributed their expertise by enriching the learning experience through their powerful sessions. They encouraged participants to live in present moments for improving focus, expressing confidently and respectfully, building trust and meaningful connections with farming communities for successful extension delivery.
The sessions were highly appreciated by the participants for their relevance, practical insights, and interactive approach. The training concluded with a post-test, feedback, and evaluation session, marking a successful end to a well-curated behavioural development initiative aimed at strengthening the extension delivery system in the agriculture sector.
