Agri Clinic and Agribusiness Centres Scheme (ACABC Scheme)
The Ministry of Agriculture and farmers welfare, Government of India, in association with NABARD has launched a programme to for Agricultural Graduates to venture into their own entrepreneurial journey. They can open their own AgriClinic or AgriBusiness Centre and offer professional extension services.
Committed to this programme, the Government is now also providing start-up training to graduates in Agriculture, or any subject allied to Agriculture like Horticulture, Sericulture, Veterinary Sciences, Forestry, Dairy, Poultry Farming, and Fisheries, etc. Those completing the training can apply for special start-up loans for venture.
Objectives of the scheme
- After the successful completion of the training under ACA&BC, the candidates will be able to start their own ventures. The scheme includes provision for providing special start-up loans and hand holding for the selected candidates.
Eligibility criteria for candidates
The scheme is open to following categories of candidates of age group of 18 to 60 years. Serving and retired persons are not eligible under the scheme.
- Graduates of Central Agricultural Universities (CAUs), State Agriculture Universities (SAUs), or universities approved by ICAR/UGC in the fields of agriculture and related fields. Degrees in agriculture and related fields, offered by other organizations, are also regarded as pending clearance from the Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Government of India, after State Government endorsement.
- Diplomas holders (with a minimum of 50% marks) or postgraduate diplomas in agriculture and related fields from the State Department of Technical Education, State Agricultural Universities, and State Agriculture and Allied Departments.
- On the suggestion of the State Government, the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, may also approve diplomas in agriculture and related disciplines delivered by other organizations.
- Degree courses recognised by UGC having more than 60 percent marks of the course content in Agriculture and allied subjects.
- Diploma/Post Graduate Diploma courses with more than 60 percent marks of course content in Agriculture and allied subjects, after B.Sc. with Biological Sciences from recognised colleges and universities.
- Agriculture related courses at Intermediate i.e. 10+2 level, with at least 55% marks.
Duration of the programme
The 45 days training programme aims at transforming persons qualified in the field of agriculture and allied sectors into agri-entrepreneurs.
Candidates per batch
Each batch shall not exceed 35 candidates after interview of shortlisted candidates.
Training fee
No training fee. It is a Government Sponsored residential programme for the selected candidates
